Glitter On Acetate By Amy Day

Oh how I wish I was a better photographer when I get cards like this! Amy made this beautiful butterfly using glitter on acetate. This card has amazing layers of textures from the embossed and inked background layer to the popped up sentiment. But the butterfly adds major WOW factor! Does she know how to bring the bling or what!

If you would like to see a better picture of her card and more details check out her post on Create & Craft(the link is here on my blog). It shows cards using the technique of the month for Card Club that meets the first Sunday of every month. I think you will enjoy not only her card but some of the others from the card swap group. I joined last month so I am so excited to meet with all the guys and gals Feb 5th at Red Letter Journals in Grove City, Ohio. If your in the area you should check it out. It starts at 3pm. Maybe I will see you there!

I would like to also say thank you so much Amy for the card. It was such a wonderful surprise! I love it! :0)

As always I wish you time to be creative but most of all time to stamp!

It's Blog Candy Time!

I guess a picture will have to do for now! UGH!!! I have been trying to download my video of me using it and I don't know what has happened. Could a video be too long to post on You Tube? But never fear! I will post a few this week of me using mine so you can see how wonderful this machine is!!!

So first let's thank Tonya from RED LETTER JOURNALS in Grove City, Ohio for making this lovely prize package available! You are a real gem to help me make one Scrapbooker or Rubber Stamper very happy!

The prize will include the Grand Calibur retail $139.99
Spelbinders Grand Templates:
Crative Book Pages retail $49.99
Creative Book Pages Two retail $59.99

This package is worth retail $249.97 YEAH!!! (if you already own this machine I will work with you to give you the same amount of prize $$$ in dies for your machine. You can pick out which ones you would want and I will order them and ship them right out to you)

How do I win it you may ask :0)

Answer the following questions on this post.

As the new year begins I find myself wondering should I do smaller prizes every month OR a LARGE prize every 3 months?

I can't wait to hear what you have to say. I appreciate all your comments and input in helping me make my blog better! And now for the second question:

My sister and I are doing some more "spring cleaning" of our supplies. I was thinking about putting together packages including papers with their matching embellishments along with stamp sets. The Question is:

I thought it might be fun to offer them as little prizes as we go thru everything instead of putting them in our yearly yard sale. Would you be interested in me posting them to win for free on my blog??? Of course if you have the sets or papers you could pass but I was wondering how you would feel about it. :0)

I hope you have had a great weekend and I can't wait to see who wins! Also I am allowing ALL entries no matter where you live. I have many followers from outside the USA and I appreciate each and everyone of you so I want you to have a chance too!

And most importantly, everyone who has ever done my blog candy knows I always have and extra prize! And my second prize is pretty great too!

Take care and Good Luck to you all!

Well, today is my sister-in-law Barb's Birthday and it's also Australia Day! I want to say a big hello and Happy Australia Day to my dear Aussie friend, Carly! Hope your day is wonderful!

Hope Barb will like this card I made her. I have to tell you now that she knows how to stamp and she is really good at it I needed to make sure my card was top notch! :0)

The supplies I used to make the card were from Carly(thank you again for the vouchers) They were:
Stamp Set: Milton & Co "Toby and butterfly"
Paper and brad from: Milton & Co "Milton"

I stamped the image with Tuxedo Black Memento. Colored in with bashful blue, wild wasabi. daffodil delight, blushing bride from Stampin Up. I used Copic markers for Toby in colors E31, E33, E35 and around him for depth I used C00.
The rest of the paper and ribbons were all from Stampin Up.
Cardstock used Whisper white, bashful blue, chocolate chip
chocolate chip and bashful blue satin ribbon

Other tools and items used:
Stampin Up Dazzling Details(like stickles)
Stampin Up dimensionals
Zot Dots size large to help keep the ribbons fanned out.
Spellbinder Nestabliites Lacy Squares Die
To cut and emboss using the dies: Spellbinder's Grand Calibur Machine(this is one amazing machine!)

The finished size of the card was 6x6.

I hope you enjoyed the card as much as I enjoyed making it. So here is a hint for Sundays BIG BLOG CANDY...something from the blog candy is on the list of items used! :0)

It's Blog Candy Time!

All I can say is I really need to figure out how to use my camera. My friend even sent me directions to make an Infinity Board to help with my photos but look at my pictures!?! You should really see how lovely the papers and embellishments really look. The overlays are beautiful!! I keep asking myself what am I doing wrong with this camera...oh well, I digress! Let's get down to some blog candy!

This is just a small blog candy before the big reveal on this Sunday. I want to thank you all who made comments on Joe's Blog and mine. So what I would like to do is give you a chance for each comment you made on Joe's blog, my blog and if you post on my last blog and tell me what you like about my Sister-in-law's first card I will put your name in for another chance for this blog candy. SO for EACH comment on all these posts you will have your name put in for the drawing!

What you see pictured is for the first name drawn since you know me I just can't give away one prize package! It's so much more fun to have one more surprise to give away! So I will be drawing for one extra prize and I will video tape it so you can see who wins! :0)

So have fun posting on all the posts. If you are having problems posting remember you can always email me and I will post your comments for you. (stampinshirl@aol.con)Hopefully Blogger has fixed the problem...but I'm not hopeful! hehe

So take care and remember there are two prize packages! :0)

I will be drawing for this blog candy on Friday Jan 27, 2012. Good Luck All!

My Sister-In-Law's First Card! And Are You Having Problems Posting?

Hello all my lovely blog followers1 I am still not 100% but I am up and going for now. hehe I have been resting when I feel like it and it has helped so much. Why I should feel guilty if I need to take a nap in the middle of the day is beyond me! I have enjoyed quite a few naps lately! :0)

For Christmas my sister and I made up a rolling cart of stamping supplies for my Sister-In-Law(Barb) and her children. Will this is the thank you card she sent me. Can you believe this is her FIRST card!!! My sister said maybe you showed her too well. She'll be out doing you in no time! I think she's right! Can you tell she's a natural!

Barb didn't miss a detail. She really did a wonderful job tying together the colors in the designer paper. I love how she used the brown ribbon, brown cardstock layer and brown ink on the butterfly. The lacy ribbon edge, popped up saying and the popped up butterfly with the sweet little pearl center makes this card a real winner! I can't wait to see what she will come up with next.

Now later today I will post my birthday card I made her. It turned out so cute. I used the items I got from Carly at Christmas. You will just love it!

OK, I want to address people having problems posting and even finding my blog. I left messages with blogger and have gone to their help center. I guess this is a common problem for blogger. SO I added more info and redid all the setting so anyone can post. So if you still have a problem with posting please email directly and I will post your comment for you. :0) It really is no bother so please feel free to email me if you have a problem.

Later tonight I will post the prize for this weeks mini blog candy from my earlier post. So stop back tonight. I think your going to love the new products, papers and matching embellishments!

As always, I wish you time to be creative but most of all time to stamp!

Till my next post...

OK, I know your jealous!!! HA! Can you believe what a wonderful gift this is! This beautiful one of a kind handmade frame was made and given to me by Joe Rotella my dear friend and owner of Create & Craft. He also was just named a Design Team Member for US Art Quest. Congrats Joe! But most of all thank you for such a lovely gift. I found the perfect place to hang it where I will see it everyday and often. This really really really is one of the nicest art pieces I have ever received. The poem you put inside is how I feel about our friendship. You are a blessing in my life and it is a privilege to be your friend. Lee and I are so fortunate to have you and Joe M.(and Betty) in our lives. Lee said to tell everyone "He likes me best that's why he put my favorite bird on the frame!" What can I say about my gotta love him!

My pictures aren't as good as the one on Joe's site and he did a video on how he made it. You just have to check it out!!!

SO here's the deal. Go to Joe's website(the link is here on my blog on the right sidebar...Create & Craft) Then leave a message on his post letting him know I sent you and on this post letting me know you stopped by his site. I will put your name in for a wonderful blog prize! :0) (I promise it will be worth your time if you win!!!)

Now don't forget I still have a SUPER HUGE BLOG CANDY that I will be posting on January 29th! You won't believe it till you see it!!! :0)

I'm still a bit under the weather but I just was biting at the bit to share this with you and was waiting for Joe to post the video. :0) And by the way if you see anything you like that he carried in his store let me know when you post back here. You may never know it may just be something you could win! hehe

I can't wait to see how you liked his video and website!

Till my next post, I hope you are all well, warm and loved.

NyQuil On The Rocks!

I'm going to make this short and sweet. I have caught one bad cold. I am now just getting over the cough. NyQuil gives you a little itty bitty cup to measure the dosage. I laugh at the little cup! HA HA! I have resorted to just chugging it from the bottle!

As I lay in bed I worry that I have so much to post, so much to tell you about. (Just wait till you see the blog candy this month!) I'm wandering how you are all doing.

Last week I received one of the most wonderful handmade gifts of my entire life!!! I am going to post it tomorrow no matter what. And there will be a surprise with the post so don't forget to stop back.

OK, it's time for my NyQuil on the rocks! :0) I hope you are all well and staying warm.

Till my post tomorrow...

Happy New Year!

Oh my, where do I begin!!!

All I can say is it is so true the saying:

"It is give and not receive in return!"

In my heart I feel like I try hard to do my small part in the world around me. :0) I give when I can and as much as I can. Sometimes not so much. Sometimes just a hug or smile. The last 2 years have been the hardest I have ever faced in my life. Our home took major damage this past year and last year Lee shattered his tibia and fibia on his left leg(the doctor was ready to remove his leg!). It took over a year to heal and still not properly. But his leg was saved! We have lived through the flooding of our home...with lots of laughs! But most of all I have witnessed one miracle after another! I have experienced more kindness from family, friends and my neighbors than I could ever elaborate here! (I could write a novel bigger than War & Peace about all the wonderful things that have happened to me! My one neighbor surprised me for watching her 2 dogs, 4 hamsters and 2 fish with paying for my eye exam and new glasses!) So as the year ended Lee and I realized that somehow everything seems so small and insignificant compared to all we have been given!

To you my lovely blog fiends, I wish you a year filled with the joy you have shared with me this past year. And should you need a smile, a laugh, some inspiration or someone to lean on...remember you are never alone! I love and appreciate you all!!! Thank you for making my year a blessing come true!

Now lets have some fun this year!!! I have some cool videos coming up that I will be posting next week. (we are still having family in this weekend to finish up the last of the Christmas house is the place to be for the holidays! HA!)

I'm still catching up on emails and Facebook page posts so bear with me! :0)

Take care and as always I wish you time to be creative but most of all time to stamp!

Till my next post...
