Video Of Blog Candy

Well, after 5 hours, I finally got this to download. I really need to figure out what I am doing wrong! LOL

Anyway, I think is is such cute new paper and embellishments. I just know they will make great scrapbook pages and some fun cards with the leftovers. Let's face it we papercrafters are thrifty individuals! :0)

I will be drawing for this blog candy and 2 more extra "Christmas/Winter" paper surprise packages. I promise you will LOVE them!

Now to be entered for the drawing you just need to post an answer to the following question on this blog post. The question for this blog candy is:

What colors and theme do you use to decorate for the holidays?

I finally got rid of all the red and golds and the bright neons I used back and forth each year for blues, browns and coppers with all natural elements. I do adore vintage bird ornaments and natural looking elements. But if I could pick a theme it would be snowflakes and snowmen. Winter is my favorite season. The way the snow glistens in the sunlight and the crunch under your feet is Heaven to me! :0) Of course this year with the new addition of 3 very wild, crazy and rambunctious kitties, we will not be putting up a tree. Maybe just hang some unbreakable ornaments from their cat tower. (I'll make sure to post pictures of it.)

Take care all and I will be back with a few sneak peek pictures of the 2 extra blog candies. Can't wait to see what you think of them. But most of all I can't wait to read your answers to the question this time. I may get some great decorating ideas. I can use all the help I can get when it comes to holiday decorating!:0)

Till my next post...

  2. oh wow this blog candy is sensational! would look terrific for all the photos I have of Madalyn at the Werribee Zoo (a local zoo that has African animals ... lions, apes, rhinos, zebras etc)

Hmmm as for Christmas ... I tend to go purple, silver and a light blue ... looks gorgeous with shimmery snowflakes. It's funny because Christmas for us here in Australia is the middle of summer!

I can't wait to put up the tree this year. Madalyn is old enough to help and is excited about it all. It's also our first Christmas in our new home ... so extra special.

Thank you so much for the chance to win some candy. 5 hours! LOL that's a fair effort Shirley! My patience would have gotten the better of me .... or lack of patience I should say.

    xoxoxo Carly

PS. got two new little hens today! will email you some photos!

  4. Shirley, do you know how much I would like to win the blog candy this time? I just love jungle colors and prints! As far as Christmas decorating, I just love blues! I like blue lights outside and I really like blue oon the tree, also. I know it is a little out of the box, but I really like it.

  5. Hi Shirley! Very nice blog candy! If I had to pick decorating colors for Christmas, I think it would be red and white. I have some snowmen that I use to decorate, but for a few years I have had an abundance of stockings. This year I'm radically changing things, and I'm going rustic, with lots of pine cones, burlap, etc! I think that will be fun!
    Thanks for this opportunity!
    Hugs,
    Debb D.

  7. I have to come over and help you with your video upload :) And, by the way, your nails look GREAT in this clip!

Colors and themes, huh? Well, right now we're decorated in "craft supply boxes and bags" and the colors would be "white plastic bags, brown boxes and some blue bags too" LOL

Now if we could get the house clean, I think JoeM wants to do an "under the sea" theme with a tree filled with ocean ornaments - so our colors will be blue, purple, green and SPARKLES!

  9. The blog candy looks delicious, thanks for a chance to win! For Christmas, traditional green for a tree and white lights, and then very rich colors for decorations in red, blue, gold, and purple. I have considered a retro tree in white, but my hubby thinks I am crazy, lol!

Glad to see you are back! My Christmas decos tend to be the traditional red and green with a touch of silver. I use snowmen and snowflakes also when I switch to blue and white. I like this because it changes to a winter theme and I can leave some things up longer.

  12. Hi Shirley! What wonderful blog candy. Thank you for allowing me a chance to win. My Christmas theme would have to be classic or traditional. My tree is the same every year, only with the new ornaments that I received from the year before. My kids expect it, and I love it. It has ornaments from the first year I was married, 1984, with my ones my children made and received through the years. It is so sentimental, and just perfect for displaying that way once a year.
I also have four other trees in my house, which one is my favorite - A Hello kitty tree!
Overall, I would say that my theme is country, with colored lights on the main tree, and country greens and reds. Thanks again for asking that wonderful question, which brings up sweet memories.

  13. Depends on the room! Yes, you read that right - each room has its own color/theme. Our living room is done in gold, burgundy, and crystal. The dining room as a gorgeous fiber optic tree and is decorated in cream, gold, and a very deep red. The kitchen used to be done in snowmen, but we got rid of it all a couple years ago. Our bedroom is done in purple and red, our main bath in purple and silver, our spare room in keepsake ornaments, and our basement in Disney. Yes, there's a tree in each room, and the pugs even have their own tree with pug and dog ornaments!

Christmas has always been my favorite holiday!

  14. Shirley, that's really cute candy. Thanks for the chance to win. My colors for Christmas are the traditional red and green. I can't do anything else, it's just not Christmas for me. My theme in the kitchen is gingerbread boys and girls. My kids are now 49 and 50 years old and my grandkids are 22 and 17, but it doesn't matter. I love the look of all the gingerbread items I've collected over the years. And after 3 years of an artificial tree, I've gone back to having a real live tree in the living room. What was I thinking???
Again red and green with lots of garland covering the mantel and doors. I wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving this week and a great holiday season.

    Babe

  16. Very cute blog candy. I love using the animal prints for pictures with my nephews and for their sports teams - their football team was Bengals, so prints work great! Now, for Christmas scrapbooking, I am partial to traditional reds and greens, but I prefer the deeper, darker shades with gold accents. But I am open to other color combinations - variety is the spice of life! Jill

  17. Shirley, first let me say - WELCOME BACK! So glad you are feeling better. We miss you when you aren't around - things just are not the same without our Smiley Shirley!
Terrific blog candy, again! Thank you so much for the opportunity.
I, too, am shying away from the reds, greens, gold, etc. I thought I would NEVER say this, but I actually love the "kraft" brown paper! It is so versatile and I have loved everything I've seen done with it. I was pleasantly surprised to see "kraft" card packages at Michaels so I bought both sizes; hope to be able to come up with something clever for card class in December using them.
Thank you, again, Shirley, and so glad you are back!

  21. Hello, Shirley! What a great candy package! Christmas colors for me vary, I love a rich red with gold or deep blue with silver. What am I talking about!?!! I just love Christmas colors from the red & green combo to the vintage of the 50's to the victorian shades of peach/pink.

  22. Shirley I'm glad you are feeling better. Thanks for a chance to win some great supplies. I used to decorate in a dark red, dark green and gold. The last few years I've decorated in blue, silver and white. But, no matter what colors I always make sure to include my favorite "ornaments" which are plastic ice-cicles. They make the tree look so pretty.

  23. I don't have a specific color scheme. I love getting ready for Christmas - more so than the actual day, which has become somewhat anti-climatic. But the teenagers aren't that interested in helping anymore and it's not as much fun. As some of you know I have not had a tree up for several years and I really miss that. The artificial tree is too tall for the living room and Harry the Grinch doesn't like to go to all the work to put it up inside our unfinished unheated family room. (The Grinch also doesn't want to put up outside decorations either.) SO after card club I went to Michaels and got a 6' pre-lit tree for $70 on sale. I get to decorate a tree this year Yeah!

I like to buy one new ornament each year that either has the date on it or represents something to me, like a Mount Vernon one we got when we went on vacation. I treasure handmade ones the kids created or Happy Meal Christmas toys they got. Jeanne has given me several nice ornaments. To me a uniform "designer" tree is not as attractive as one where every ornament has a story.

    Great topic Shirley! Paula

  25. So glad to see you back.I hope you are having a wonderful Thanksgiving .I am waiting for the black friday adds to show up on the door step. Now for your really great question. I loved our white christmas tree with the color wheel turning behinding it. I love adding all the old family ornaments, I have also went to a larger tree so I can add my own new ornaments I have found over the years. I love the old and somewhat new mixed together. As for color there is no one set color theme just every color you can think of mixed together.Kathy H.

  27. Hi Shirley,
This year I am doing a snowman tree and a buckeye tree. This is the first year we have ever done themed trees so we will see how it turns out. Your blog candy is amazing as always.

It was nice to see you at Nancy's card class. It has been a while.
Have a wonderful Christmas if I do not see you before then.
