Want2Scrap Ocean Album Using Graphic 45 Travelogue & ArtGlitter

by Joe Rotella on July 27, 2012
Want2Scrap is teaming up this week to bring you tons of inspiration using Want2Scrap, Graphic 45, and Art Glitter products!
With a combination like that, and the recent launch of my first set of products, I couldn’t resist using my Ocean Album for this hop. All the papers used in this project came from a single 12×12 pad of Graphic45 Tropical Travelogue.
Here’s the sneak peak I share yesterday on Facebook. The sun was shining bright when I took this photo so it’s a great representation of the colors in the album.

Unfortunately, tonight we had severe storms in Columbus, Ohio and the sky was dark. These photos were taken indoors with the best lighting I could pull together. As soon as I can replace them with outdoor shots, I’ll update this post.
Sea Horse with Graphic45 Travelogue and Art Glitter I covered the sea horse with Graphic45′s Tropical Travelogue paper using Perfect Paper Adhesive. To give the seahorse texture, I created my own stencil and embossed it with USArtQuest’s 101 Light Artists Cement that was tinted with Perfect Pigment. Art Glitter sprinkled on while the cement was still wet added a sparkle! Of course, his eye is bling from Want2Scrap!
Coral with Graphic45 Travelogue and Art Glitter The coral was also covered in Graphic45′s Tropical Travelogue paper and then inked. Want2Scrap pearls in 3 different sizes reminded me of the texture of real coral. The bottom of the piece was covered with 101 Light Artists Cement and coral, shells, sea glass and mica were embedded in the cement. The starfish using USArtQuest Prills. The fish and sign are fussy cut from Travelogue papers.
The small purple and green coral are the branches from my Retro Birds set from Want2Scrap! They have been painted shades of purple and green.

Shell with Graphic45 Travelogue and Art Glitter The shell was painted white and then pearl with Perfect Pigments. Pink lines were drawn with a colors pencil and then it was “blinged up” with Want2Scrap bling!
Angel Fish with Graphic45 Travelogue and Art Glitter The angel fish is covered with Graphic45′s Tropical Travelogue paper. To create the yellow stripes, I covered a piece of yellow paper with Cut Bond Create. Next I cut out the stripe shapes and then adhered them to the fish with Great Tape. I peeled off the top layer of the Cut Bond Create and applied yellow glitter from Art Glitter.
The eye was made by applying Cut Bond Create to a small white circle. A black rhinestone from Want2Scrap forms the center of the eye. The rest was covered in white glitter from Art Glitter.
Turtle with Graphic45 Travelogue and Art Glitter The turtle shell was covered with Graphic45′s Tropical Travelogue paper, cut in to “tile shapes” on top of a base layer of paper. The entire piece was covered with embossing ink and then heat embossed with ultra thick embossing enamel (UTEE). The end result looks like a real shell!
Back of Turtle with Graphic45 Travelogue and Art Glitter The back of the turtle, the last page of the album, is covered in Graphic45′s Tropical Travelogue paper.
I plan to continue working on this album, adding pockets, embellishments and, of course, photos and journaling!
Be sure to check out the fabulous projects made by today’s other two Want2Scrap designers:
And after you check that out, head over to Graphic 45 , and Art Glitter‘s blogs and see the projects made by their talented teams.
Want2Scrap is giving away a $100 Gift Certificate to one lucky commenter who comments on the designers blogs as well as the Want2Scrap blog! Stop by the Want2Scrap Facebook Page this week and tell them you joined in the hop for a second chance to win a prize!

Video Of Blog Candy

Blog Candy Time!

http://want2scrap.com/store/

Hello my lovely blog followers!

I wanted to thank you all so much for your kind words regarding the loss of our cat Woody. It has been a whirlwind week so far! Our vets had a litter of kittens and we ended up taking two kittens. Both are mostly black with a bit of white on them. The male is very out going and the female is a bit timid but she has really started to come out of her shell. We still need names for them.

So let me get to the new blog candy! If you go to the link and check on Joe Rotella's designs, you will see his new line with a total of 9 designs. They are really amazing. So here is what you will win.

ONE OF EVER PIECE IN HIS NEW LINE! I can't even begin to tell you how cool the chipboard books are. Also look for samples posted in the next couple of weeks.

Now if you have been following me for any length of time you know I have some extras. So I will be giving a few more of his pieces away. Although not whole sets, I know you will have fun with them. :0)

To enter for the blog candy leave an answer to the question here on this post. And the question is:

Can you think of names for our new kitties? If not which name do you like best on our list OR of any that get posted?

Here is a couple of pictures of them to inspire you! LOL

This is the male. I guess he got bored with me trying to catch up on emails.

The female is on the left. It was nap time after eating and playing hard!
We are starting to get to tell them apart by their personalities. :0)

Here are some of the names we have so far:
Harold and Maude(my favorite movie)
Lucy and Ricky(hubby says no way)
Mortica and Gomez(hubby likes)
Pugsley and Wednesday
Bonnie and Clyde
and I thought that Miss Inky and Stamper would be cute.

I can't wait to see what you come up with.

Have a great day. I will be drawing for the blog candy on next Thursday August 2, 2012.
Good luck to you all!

Stamping hugs,
Shirley

PS. You can also find his complete line at Red Letter Journal's In Grove City, Ohio!

Beautiful Flowers And Wonderful Memories

I remember all the sleepless nights feeding Woody and Kitty Karma. We knew right up front they didn't have a very good chance but we put our all into saving them.
Woody was the cuddler. He loved to be held.
He always seemed to have something wrong with him! :0) This bump turned up and had to be drained. It seemed like he spent as much time at the vets as at home!
When the plate was empty he could flip it over and then stand on them. It was like he was saying "More Please".
Another sick spell. He could barely walk or eat.

Then Kitty Karma got sick and he never left her side. Sadly we lost her in November of last year.

He loved being in my stamping room with me. He stayed with me all day long. He found the perfect place to sleep!

It's funny how he would love to watch me stamp. I think he liked the heat from the Ott-Lights. :0)

Beautiful Sympathy flowers in our favorite colors from Joe Rotella, Joe Morgan and Betty Scott.

Sadly this morning we had to have our cat Woody aka Mr. Wood E. Pile euthanized. I remember when we found him in the wood pile(hence my husband naming him). For such a little kitten he could cry! We found another kitten at the same time in the flowerbeds. I nursed them every 2 to 3 hours round the clock for months. They were just both so sick. The vets were we go were there for us through a lot of rough times. We knew that Woody wouldn't have a full life but we were determined that he would have a great life as long as he was alive. It's funny the things you remember as you look back. Dr. Lynn was so worried about the neurological damage he had and told us it would be a miracle if he lived a year. Well he was our miracle. He lived to be a year and one month.

He was my cuddlebug. I never had a cat that liked to be held so much. He wanted to be where I was and would cry if he didn't see me. He also always came when I called him. We spoiled him rotten EVERYDAY we had him. I'm so glad we did. He was a joy everyday and he will be remembered as one silly, crazy, wild, head butting and loving cat. It's funny how quiet our house is right now. But not for long. I love cats and I just think no home is complete without at least one! :0)

Most of all I'm so grateful for the vets Dr. Lynn and Dr. Connell who saw both our cats (so very often) who tried every known medicine and compound. Took special care with Woody's surgery. For all the staff not for just the laughs but for the tears they shed with me. For every kind word and call to check on them. You gave us as much time with them as you could.  For that we will always be in your debt. Plain City Animal Hospital is the BEST!

I want to thank Joe Rotella for listening to me cry and talking to Lee. The flowers are beyond a wonderful gesture. They are so beautiful and smell Heavenly. They make Lee and I both feel cared about. So Thank You! Thank You! Thank You!

To all my wonderful blog followers, I promise to be back in the next couple of days with the new blog candy. This kind of took the wind out of  my sails so to speak.  Sorry for the delay. Take care and I'll be back very soon!

Stamping hugs,
Shirley

Hi Everyone!

I just wanted to do a quick post before I leave to go to my Mom's today.

Joe Rotella from Create & Craft is teaching several classes at Stampaway here in Ohio(I think Cincinnati area). I thought I would encourage you to sign up if you can. I have seen the clock and the tags. I have even taken the frame class. They are so amazing! The tags are each so different but you are learning a lot of techniques.

Have you ever taken a class and got home only to later think how did we do that? Well I have taken classes from Joe Rotella and Joe Morgan. You always learn so much and leave with great projects that you will know how to duplicate when you get home. I've never been disappointed by a class.

If you sign up leave me a comment. I will give you an extra chance in my new blog candy I will be posting later. I'm giving away some of Joe Rotella's new product line. They are just plain fun!

Have a great weekend and I will be back late Sunday night with the new blog candy!

Congratulations Joe Rotella!

http://want2scrap.com/store/

Congratulations Joe Rotella of Create & Craft on your new line of products. Your designs are amazing and I can't wait to own them for myself and use as blog candy!

His products can be viewed at the link above and I know after talking to one of the buyers for Red Letter Journals that they will be carrying his products also. The best part is since he lives in the Columbus, Ohio area he will be teaching classes on using the products.

I adore the retro Christmas ornaments and can't wait to do them for my Christmas tree this year. The ocean and leaf books are to die for. And how about that pulley! I will be using that on a cool Steampunk scrapbook for the hubby for Christmas.

Just looking at them I feel my creative juices flowing. Joe this couldn't happen to a better person. You deserve all the accolades, my dear lovely artistic friend! Lee also says "Way To Go Joe!".

The Surprise Of A Lifetime!

Hello Everyone!

I can't believe this. Joe Rotella of Create& Craft called me this morning and said to check out a link he sent me.  Let me just start by telling you that recently Joe filmed several shows for Scrapbook Soup that will air on Public Television for the next 3 years!

I about feel off my chair when I saw my blog on the program! (it's at 5:35 on the show) I think I broke his eardrum screaming for joy when I saw it! I can't believe he shared my blog! I feel like a TV star now. hehe

Most of all, it feels wonderful to have friends in the craft industry to not only take notice of my work but to share it with others. This is the best gift I have received in years. What a special day!

I can't wait to see all his episodes. Here is a link to the website for the schedule and you can watch his videos now.

We Have Internet Service Again!

We were so lucky to only lose our power for 25 minutes when the storms came. But on Sunday when the storms returned it took out our Internet service. I tell you I can live without the TV but not my Internet. I am behind now on emails and will get to them all today when I get back.

I will also be back later with all the cards from our swap group that meets at Red Letter Journals in Grove City the first Sunday of every month.

Take care and be back later today!
Stamping Hugs,
Shirley
