Paper Fortune Cookie

Hello my lovely blog followers!

I can't tell you how much fun it was making these paper fortune cookies! I can't believe I saw these in 2010 and have just now got around to doing them in our card group. The idea's to use these are endless.

If anyone would like me to make a video showing how to put the box together and decorating it I would be happy to do one. Just let me know.

I want to thank my sister Mary for video taping this for me. I went to her house and my niece Natalie was there. She was such a good girl and sat quietly while we taped.  I wish we had showed her while she said bye bye at the end. I hope you can hear her. After we were all done and playing it back to make sure it was ok she got so excited and said "Look Aunt Shirley's hands!" I wish I could get that excited seeing my hands on video! LOL :0)

Now for the link to find the PDF file for the box and it also has instructions for the cookies and you can see how she decorated her box. She did her fortune sayings stamped on twill ribbon. I hope you'll check out her site. She has lots of fun projects.

It's Blog Candy Time!

Hi Everyone!

It's blog candy time again. This months is from Diane McNeill of Scrapbook Additions. That's her in the picture.  Isn't that some kind of prize package!!! Lot's of extra tags, buttons and bling. And the adhesive's (love those adhesive pens) and the Stardust Clear pens...I can't live without them! The pearls all match the cardstock perfectly.

I wanted to tell you a bit about how her store works and a bit about Diane. I gave here a list of questions to answer so here is our "interview". :0)

How does shipping work?
For sales $50 and over shipping is free in the US. Out of the country they will pay what it costs to ship.

Is everything on your site discounted?
Yes! No one ever pays retail.

Can they sign up for emails on upcoming new products?
Yes! Just email me at:

If they want something that they don't see on the site can they still get them from you?
If an item is not currently on the website doesn't mean they can't get it. Just email me and I will check and get back to them that very day.
I will even look for older products to see if she can still get them. It's fun looking for new products or older ones! I like to keep my customers happy!

What is your favorite thing about being an online store owner?
Love to see the new products, picking out what to purchase and just love opening the box when it comes! I love my customers, many who are very close friends. Love them all. I have learned so much from them, my cup runneth over with new ideas.

Could you tell us a little about your company and yourself?
The company started out in 2002 as J&D Scrapbooking and in 2007 my husband and I started Scrapbook Additions as a website. It has over 1200 products sold on the website. More is added all the time. Our main goal was selling at discounted prices, shipping out orders quickly and inexpensively as possible. We try to make improvements on the website all the time.

I am a mother of 6 children and have been married for almost 32 years. I love scrapbooking and card making. My passion is scrapbooking. I love putting books together of what my family had done together everyday, vacations and everyone's achievements. My husband and I enjoy sitting and lookig back over our special times with our children. I wish your family the best. Keep scrapping and card making.

And Diane I would like to say thank you for such a fabulous Blog candy!

The question to answer on this post to enter for the blog candy is:
If you have been on Diane's website, what is your favorite thing you saw or thought you would like?
(there is a link to her website her on my blog under places I like to shop)

Good luck all!

Till my next post...

Card Group Today At My House

Hi Everyone!

In just a while our monthly card group will be getting together at my house. We usually meet at Diane's. My house isn't exactly what I would call super clean but it sure is reasonably clean! LOL I have moved all my furniture in my living room and set up tables. I made 2 treats for each person. A two sided teabag holder made a bit larger for bags of mini M&M's along with a pretty stamped card on one side. And a pull up candy bar holder(I just love this one!) I have them sitting at the top right of their place settings.

I am teaching a Fortune Cookie Box with Fortune Cookies(my sister will video tape me while I demo and then I will post it later today). Aren't those boxes cute. I got them from another site over a year ago and have been dying to try them.

I also have a couple of cards they can make if they would like and time permits. Barb is also teaching a card today. So it will be fun. She is a good one for using texture, layers and tools we forget we had! :0)

Well, I must get the hamburgers and brats on the grill.(yes we are having food...lots of food!). So enjoy and I will return later tonight to share more pictures and a video.

I wish you all time to stamp today, and especially with friends!

Hi Everyone!

If you have any questions feel free to ask.

And let me say sorry you had to see my messy tables but I am working on projects for a card class at my house in a week. I moved all my furniture and set up tables in the living room. I think it will be really fun. I promise to do a video and take lots of pictures to show you what we made.

Take care and as always I wish you time to be creative but most of all time to stamp!

Have I Told You Lately How Much I Appreciate You?

Let me begin with saying how much I have appreciated all your support of my blog.

When I first started my blog(see first should make you laugh!) I had intended on using it to share my stamping, a bit about me and my life and my weight loss journey. I guess of late my priorities have changed a bit. :0)

Well, I haven't taken care of myself very well over the last two years and now it is do or die! I found a diet buddy online crafting forum. We became fast friends and she suggested a diet blog separate form my stamping one. So I started a separate one for that. I have been posting more on it lately. And since I have started my diet and workout regimen I am actually exhausted all day!!! :0)  So I have really let this stamping blog kind of fall by the wayside just doing a few things here and there. I want to say how sorry I am for that. Not just because I feel I'm letting you all down but I'm letting myself down. Stamping gives me such joy! To share what I make is like sharing a piece of me. :0)

I follow a lot of blogs and I have been rethinking my format. How can I change it to make it better? Well, first of more cards and instructions. Videos one per week(minimum).

I would like to have a schedule I can stick to every week. Like a post Monday, Wednesday and Friday with a video on Tuesday or Thursday of each week.  I would like to do blog candy once a month say the last Sunday of the month?

And remember, you know for you posting here on this blog I will be drawing for a wonderful blog prize! Let's give everyone a couple of weeks to post their ideas. :0) I will draw on Sunday,April 29th, 2012 my time 8pm. I will also post May's blog candy! It's a fun one with alterable pieces...big package!!! And you can come back and post as many ideas as you can think of! And if I use your idea...BINGO! You will win a special prize...and you want to win this one!!! hehe

And again let me finish by saying you are all such special friends to me. It's hard to put into words how much your every comment and kindness means to me. I love you and appreciate you all!!! When I say I have the best blog followers anywhere I mean it!!!

We Got Our First Easter Card WIth Lots Of Gifts!

Oh my gosh, my sister-in-law, Barb is really good at card making! My sister is right, she gets no more help!!! LOL

The card came in a huge pink egg filled with candy, a gift card to Lee's favorite steak house and this SUPER  CUTE CARD!!!

The bunny is made of white glitter paper. I love how Barb used the decorative paper to make the inside of the bunny ears and the Easter eggs. My favorite part is how she used pop dots to lift up different areas so the grass goes in and out on the paper. Very Nice Touch!

We got the package around 4pm. We went out to use the gift card at 5 pm! Now we are back and I just had to share the card and thank Barb for taking the time to send us such a nice gift but most of all the handmade card. LOL :0)

I can't wait till they get their Easter treats and card. Of course my card is not as nice. It was a quick but thoughtful effort. :0)

Just a quick update while I am posting. I am working on some really cool card making packages for blog candy. I think it will be fun. I hope it will interest you. I also have a blog candy from Scrapbook Additions that I will be posted later next week after the owner stops by to let me interview her and let you know a little bit about her and how her company works.

Take care and as always i wish you time to be creative but most of all time to stamp!
