Saturday Fun & Riley The Moose Blog Candy!

Hello everyone!

Today, was so wonderful. I was able to sneak away to Red Letter Journals in Grove City, Ohio to take a card class given by Joe Rotella and his amazing staff: Joe Morgan, Betty Scott, and Amy Day(and her hubby Phillip even helped with all the technical stuff). We also had Tanya K. from Riley and Company give us some "on air" tips on coloring Riley. Tanya K. gave away 2 prizes each about $100 in Riley the Moose Stamps AND lots of little wooden mounted Riley stamps that were special additions(not for sale). I won one!!! WOO HOO :0)

We made the 4 cards shown and the one with the blog candy is the inside of the one with the tree. Cutest little pop-up card. One of the things I liked most about the class was the extra tips given all thru the class. I've been stamping since 1993 and I still learned a few things. Joe and his staff are all so helpful. All I can say is if you live in the area and are able to take even just one class you won't regret it! Joe is a consummate teacher, talented artist and just lovely to be around. His whole staff is so considerate and check on you as your working. I hope they know how much I appreciate all their hard work and effort into putting on a top notch card class. They even stayed late helping everyone. It was a big crowd! (I was so lucky to get a spot at the very last minute) Thank You again to Tonya at Red Letter Journals for letting me know about the last space! I love ya!

Joe has a blog you just have to check out. It is called Create & Craft and I have added a link here on my blog. And don't forget to check out the link to Riley and Company. They have some new stamps coming this Thursday. I have to say these will knock your socks off! Joe also brought some of his art pieces in to share. Hopefully he will be adding some of these projects as classes.

Well, to say the least I have fallen in love with Riley the Moose! He is such a charmer. And you can find him doing just about any fun thing you can imagine! I hope you find him as fun as I do.

The blog candy is courtesy of Joe Rotella of Create & Craft(stamps) and the paper, greeting cards and stamp pad are courtesy of Tonya of Red Letter Journals of Grove City, Ohio. Thank You so much for your kindness and in believing in my blog. I know I am just getting started but I feel so encouraged and inspired by all the stamping and scrapbooking artists! It makes it that much more fun!!! :0)

So to win the Riley Blog candy all you have to do is answer this question:

Stop by Riley and company(link is here on my blog) and let me know what 2 or 3 stamps you liked the best. (hint: this will help me pick a fabulous and I do mean fabulous blog candy prize for December)

I will draw the winner on Friday September 30, 2011. Good Luck!

As always my friends, I wish you time to be creative but most of all time to stamp!

Till my next post...

PS...I have one more Blog Candy I will be posting tomorrow! Don't forget to come back and check it out!!! It is worth $85!

My New Sponge Dauber Holders

Ok, I have become obsessed with organizing not just my craft supplies but everything in my home! I just don't want the clutter and find it so hard to be creative when I'm digging around for supplies even down to the most used items like my sponge daubers. I can't tell you how many times I have used a dauber thinking it was one color only to ruin a project! Well, this holder was the answer to my prayers! And can you beat this grid list to put inside. I'm singing now...can you hear me..."I'm in Heaven!" LOL

I added some of the decorative paper from Stampin Up. I just love this button paper. I am going to add some cute establishments to the top. Probably from my new big shot die from Tim Holtz with a sewing form, pincushion, spool of thread and of course buttons. :0)

Well, I just had to share my fun new little find. I bought it from, it's from Gary Burlin Co. I may have to get a couple more and some sponge daubers to give away as blog candy! (They are only 4.74 each! what a deal)

Ok, it's way past my bed time. hehe So as always, I wish you time to be creative but most of all time to stamp!

Till my next post...

Blog Winner Karriecook, it's your turn to pick your prize! YEAH!

Karriecook is our next blog winner to pick a prize from last months prizes. I'm still trying to get in contact with her. If anyone knows her please let her know to contact me at my email address:

Karriecook, you can choose between the Bo Bunny Gabrielle Collection or the Bo Bunny Barefoot & Bliss collection. (the other sets were already chosen)

Take care all and have a great week!

David's Black "Paper" Birthday Cake...Happy 50th!

Well, this was a real labor of love! When I turned 50 my brother and his wife sent me 50 black balloons. I laugh every time I think about it! So I knew I had to think of something fun and "black"! This cake with 50 slices would do the trick.(well, only 49...I actually left one piece out and didn't realize it till he went to open up the slices! I was mortified and upset but he still loved it. When we got home it was sitting with the extras I had made. ugh!!!)

I put a a crisp new dollar in each slice. I adhered all the pieces together with mono glue and decorated with paper flowers, black satin ribbon bands on each layer and pearls. I used a Stampin Up dimensional between each flower layer to give it bit more fullness. I couldn't find enough black pearls so I colored white ones with a black sharpie. Worked like a charm. I know my pictures don't do it justice but it really did turn out great. My nephews said "Make us a birthday cake too when it's our birthday"!

Well, I only have one more sibling that will be turning 50 in a couple of years. Now what to do for him? LOL

As always, I wish you time to be creative but most of all time to stamp!

Back Home

I'm back home and beginning to catch back up. We have one sick kitty right now so I got a bit waylaid the last two days with him. :0(

Later tonight I will start posting some of the fab cards I have been receiving, cards from card night and some I made. I can't wait till you all see my "Black Paper Cake"! It was real hit. We had so much fun. I tell you the St. Louis area has some of the best food places and so much to do around the area for families. I can't wait to get back.

Now for an update on the blog candy prizes. I never heard from Kelly so I am moving her to the bottom of the list(sorry Kelly but I want the other winners to get their prizes and it has been over 2 weeks now). So Babe picked the cat set and Carly will let me know then it is Kathy S's turn and so on. :0) I think to help keep the blog candy moving I will be setting a time limit of 2 or 3 days to claim a prize then I will draw again. I feel icky doing this but I want to be fair to all the winners. If someone would have a better idea please please please I would love to hear any suggestions on this. Please feel free to post on this blog post and let me know what you think of a time limit to claim the prize. And do you think the time limit should be 2 or 3 days? :0) I will do whatever the majority thinks would be fair.

It's good to be back and can't wait to get posting some inspiration!

Take care and as always, I wish you time to be creative but most of all time to stamp!

More Blog Candy Winners! YAHOO!

First off let me say how sorry I am for forgetting I had 5 prizes and only drew 4 names!!! Oh my goodness, I feel a bit brain dead! SO I have drawn 3 more names(shown below)and this is how it stands...

Mary had all the papers I had offered and so I happily offered her one of the 2 extra blog candy prizes I had and she was so happy with the pet set. So that leaves Diane to chose next. Now here's the deal, Diane, is also an online scrapbook store owner. So I offered her a choice of items she doesn't have in stock like all these papers. She has decided on the different items. looks like it is now Kelly's turn to pick from the 6 blog candies(including the one shown) and then Babe you'll be up next.

The package shown here is a mix from We R Memories "Friends Furever" collection and Bella Blvd. Isn't it the cutest paper. I guess you could say it's purr-fect. hehe

It includes:

1 4piece clear acrylic stamp set
1 12piece fabric brads from We R Memories
1 9piece brads from Basic Grey
1 4x6 paper pad
1 6x6 paper pad
1 12x12 glimmer red paper
8 12x12 solid cardstocks(2 each o 4 coordinating colors)
10 12x12 double-sided papers
4 12x12 single sides paper(very heavy cardstock)
1 12x12 sticker sheet
1 sticker sheet from Imaginations)

I know some people don't have cats so if the cat prize is left for the last person and you do not have cats I can send you a different prize package. You could let me know what you like and I will put together something fun for you. :0)

The 3 names drawn for the extra blog candy are: Carly, Kathy S. and Karriecook. Congrats! I will let you know what sets are left to chose from as I hear from the other winners. :0)

Let's hope the next Blog Candy goes smoother!

Take care and as always I wish you time to be creative but most of all time to stamp!
