Card For David...Week 21

As I look at the pictures I am taking I know 2 things:

1.) I need to learn how to use my camera to get better pictures.
2.) I may just need a new camera. hehe :0)

The cow card was made with Close To My Heart stamp and decorative paper. I love the little cow bell(it really jingles). I embossed in black and used a pop dot to lift up the tail a bit for a bit of dimension. The black paper used is from Stampin Up. I put all kinds of "cow" puns in it.(anyone that knows me knows how much I love a good pun) I hope he will be "moo-ved " by my creation! HA!

The plane and car cards I made for my nephews. Those are made with a discontinued scrapbook paper and embellishments from Close To My Heart.

I will be posting later tonight with my Easter and "flower" card for this months card group. I really like how they are turning out.

As always, I wish you time to be creative but most of all time to stamp!

Till my next post...

Inspiration From Indiana Stamping, Scrapping & Diet Buddy

What do you think of this mini scrapbook my Diet Buddy Debb from Indiana sent me?! The really cool thing is she made it from paper bags! You would never guess it to look at it. We can pass it back and forth and add our pictures as we lose weight. There are little tags to add our thoughts and weight. Or even just notes to each other. She also sent me the book, Water With Lemons. This book is more than a diet book it's a diet novel. It's hard to describe it. It's not like anything I have read before. It's a quick read and very motivating.

Last year (November 2010 to be exact, hopefully you can see she even put that on the front of the book) I went online on Splitcoast Stampers to there forums and found "Stamp Out Fat" section. Rubber Stampers and scrapbookers who where looking for a diet buddy. That's how I ended up "meeting" Debb. Since November I have only lost 18 pounds. (not much considering how much I have to lose BUT it is a start) Debb and I email each other at least a few times a week and one phone call a week. It turns out we have so much in common it is kind of scary! (even scarier than all the weight I have to lose...hehe) I'm still struggling but I don't feel so alone about it. I've shed many a tear and lots more laughs with Debb. I have a lot of weight still to lose but this time I'm making lifestyle changes. And slowly increasing my exercise each week. No matter what time of day I can email her and feel like she is right there with me saying "You WILL do this, I believe in you!" She even encouraged me to start a separate blog sharing my weight loss journey. I haven't done much with it YET. Let's just say it's a work in progress...just like me. :0)

At first I felt like it was good to have someone to be accountable to. We have a weigh in day and we "report" back to each other. But it is so much more than that now. It's a friendship that began with a few of common interests...rubber stamping, scrapbooking and a need to lose weight. It has become a so much more. We have shared our fears, heartaches, our crazy busy days and found a way to laugh through the tears. I'm so glad to have Debb as my friend and Diet buddy! And to think we have never met in person but I feel like I've know her forever! But that is all about to change. Debb is coming to visit in May. Just a few weeks away. Watch out Debb...I have lot's of fun planned.

I have met so many wonderful men and women because of my hobby "rubber stamping". It's really true when they say "You will never meet a rubber stamper (or scrapbooker) you won't like!" They are some of the most loving and caring people around. When things look a bit grim from time to time I always have my stamping friends. There as close as sitting down to stamp a card. I don't want to get to mushy or weird but I think you are the best not just for putting up with me but for your talent, your faith and most of all your friendships.

Ok...enough mushy stuff... as always I wish you time to be creative but most of all time to stamp!(so what are you waiting for...GO STAMP!)

Blog Candy Time!

First I wanted to thank everyone for all your wonderful comments. It means so much to get your input. Hopefully as I learn my way around the computer and "blog" world, I can make this blog a great resource for stamping ideas. Please feel free to ask questions, request stamping techniques and offer any ideas to make this blog the best it can be. :0)

Now to tell you a bit about the blog candy this month. This is "Sew Easy" from We R Memory Keepers. I had seen them at Archivers at Easton Shopping Center. When I went back up to buy them they were out. :0( But I just happened to have a doctors appointment and it was right by Red Letter Journal in Grove City. Since I had gotten to my appointment early and had an hour to kill I figured might as well stop in. It was such a nice clean store and very well organized.(just like everyone had been telling me) Well, they had just gotten them in. She was pricing them as I was shopping! She even let me go behind the counter to look through all the styles. So I bought two of everything she had! I just knew it would make a fun give-a-way. I hope you think so too.

I am having so much fun with this tool. It lives up to it's name!!! All you do is roll it to pierce the paper and then stitch. Easy-Peasy! I tried to get a better picture of the card. This was my first attempt using it. I used the Orange piercer(cross). I love that you can stitch it anyway you want to. It didn't show this design. I just left off the running center stitch of the baseball stitch.

Remember, if you win and you are a follower of my blog you will receive another gift. I also am giving out one small gift to the person who makes the first comment.
Please remember to make your comment on this blog post. :0)

The Blog Candy question for April is:

What is your favorite stamping technique?

I look forward to your comments. The winner will be drawn on Saturday April 16, 2011.

Good Luck...

Mary's "Bind-it-All" Book

On our last card night Linda taught us how to make these books. Mary wasn't able to make it so I needed to show her how to do it and this is what she made. The flower on the front of the book was also a Quilling technique Linda taught. So we incorporated them together. I think she did a great job. I just love our stamping group! This class gets an A+ from Mary and me! :0)

She used a discontinued paper pack from Stampin Up called Petals and Paisleys. She also had the tin with all the matching embellishment stickers to add to the tabs. The colors used are: Old Olive, Certainly Celery, Taken with Teal, Pretty in Pink and So Saffron. This is also a great way to use up all those loose scraps of ribbon.

I haven't finished decorating mine but I will post it as soon as I get done. Maybe on Monday. I'm working on card samples today for tomorrows Blog Candy. I think this is going to be a great one!!!

Take care and I wish you time to be creative but most of all time to stamp!

Card For David...Week 23

This card was another I learned how to make in Michelle Zindorf's Advanced Brayer Class. All supplies are from Stamping Up. I really need to show all the girls in our stamping group how to do this brayer technique. When Michelle comes back to town I am going to take the classes again. She is worth every penny!

BLOG CANDY ALERT...I am so excited for this months blog candy. I had a Doctor's appointment (just a yearly exam) and the office is right by Red Letter Journal in Grove City, Ohio. I stopped in and they had just got in a new item that I had seen at Archivers that had sold out. So I bought EVERY item she had! One set for me(of course) and one set for the blog candy give away. I will be posting it on Sunday April 10, 2011. I am looking forward to seeing your entry comments. :0)

Well, I hope you are having a good week. I wish you time to be creative but most of all time to stamp!

Till my next post...

I Don't Think We Need Any More Rain!

This picture is from between our home and our neighbors the Campbell's(that's there home in the picture). I took this picture yesterday at 11am.(Tuesday the 5th) At least our sump pump is keeping us from having any water in our vents. I hope all this rain will give us a lush looking lawn! :0)

I will be posting later today with David's weekly card and a hint about the upcoming blog candy! It's a fun one this month.

Till my next post...
