Card For David...Week 24

I just loved how cute this card turned out. I used only More Mustard ink from Stampin Up. The background is a stamp from Close To my Heart, the small little border is a foam stamp from Stampendous and the lion is from Stampin Up. I used some twine to make the mane and to attach the layers through More Mustard eyelets(Stampin Up) It's sad the only time I use my sewing supplies is on cards!

On the inside I wrote "No lion we hope your having a grrreat week!" I just crack myself up! :0)

Take care and I wish you time to be creative but most of all time to stamp!

Here Comes The Sun!

What a beautiful sunrise we had this morning. I couldn't help but take pictures. This has been such a hard month and watching the sunrise this morning made me feel like things are looking up.

Like the George Harrison's song lyrics say: "Here comes the sun, here comes the sun...and I say it's alright!" ( Aren't the Beatles Great!)

Enjoy your day :0)

Happy St. Patrick's Day

Happy St. Patrick's Day to you all. I love how my card turned out. I used my new Beaded Circle Spellbinders,

Supplies Used:

Sampin Up cardstock in Whisper White, Basic Black and Galore Green. Stampin Up ribbon in Basic Black Satin.
Stamps form Close To My Heart
Ink: Black Stazon and Stampin up Galore Green
Spellbinders Beaded Circles

I wish you could see the raised spots that I highlighted on the circle. It really adds dimension. The dies are so easy to use too. I will be using these Spellbinders Dies more often now. Hope you enjoyed the card.

As always, I wish you time to be creative and most of all time to stamp!

Card For David...Week 26

Well, another week closer to my brother David's 50th birthday. I went with the green theme since it will be St. Patrick's Day when he gets it. I made this using left overs from a monthly scrapbooking kit I got years ago. I loved the polka dot alphabet stickers it came with. It feels good to use up some of the things I have had sitting around. Since moving my craft area to another room, it feels like Christmas. It has also been a reminder how easy it is for me to hoard paper supplies! :0)

Take care and I wish you time to be creative and most of all time to stamp!

Water In Vents + Furnace Running = Huge Humidifier

Well, like the title of this post says it's pretty damp in the house. Sadly when our home was built they didn't tie us into the drainage tile at the back of our lot. We are on a slab which now has a crack somewhere in the foundation so the water comes up into our vents. It's too cold not to run the furnace so it's like this huge humidifier. Every window in our house is covered in moisture and it is dripping from our ceilings and down the walls. What's even more scary is that it is suppose to rain again on Friday and we still have at least an inch of water in our vents. Not to mention we can't flush our toilets and showers have to be pretty much under 3 minutes...or until the water starts to flood into the bathroom floor.

The pictures are of the ceiling in my kitchen , above the kitchen cabinets where like all the other walls where it is dripping has run down, the flooring curling up, where the water flooded from our water softener and a sample of just one of my sweaty windows.

Every spring we deal with some water but this is the worst it has been in a couple of years. I think what makes it more painful to me is that we just got done painting every room in the house and putting in new flooring. Which has to be repaired now too. (we forgot to unplug our water softener and it ran a cycle and ended up flooding the area and under my new wood flooring which is even worse now than the picture on this post)I just hope after it dries out and I scrub the ceilings and walls it won't need to be repainted.

Like I told Lee(hubby) I am grateful to have a roof over my head even if it is leaking on me. :0)
